Dr. Arun Arora
Dr. Arun Arora is the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai, and an academic leader with more than three decades of experience in engineering education, research and administration. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from National Institute of Technology Raipur, he pursued higher studies at IIT Roorkee and earned his Ph.D. from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University. He joined Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, in 1988 and served as its Principal from 2010 before assuming the Vice-Chancellorship of CSVTU in 2025. His academic interests include thermal engineering, while his leadership priorities emphasize multidisciplinary education, research, entrepreneurship, skill development, stronger industry engagement, innovation and excellence.
Dr. Toran Verma
Dr. Toran Verma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University Teaching Department of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from CSVTU and has a research background spanning computer science, image processing, pattern recognition, machine learning and soft computing. His research has included applications of artificial intelligence and image/video processing to agricultural problems, particularly rice-plant disease detection and prediction. Dr. Verma has published research in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and has also contributed to work on machine-learning-based applications and agricultural data mining. he has been instrumental in setting up several skill development programmes at CSVTU Bhilai.
Dr. Sai Kiran Oruganti
Dr Sai Kiran Oruganti is a technologist, researcher and innovation leader specialising in Zenneck Wave Power Transmission, with experience across academia, deep-tech entrepreneurship and research commercialisation in India, South Korea and China. He holds sixteen commercially successful patents in the field of Wireless Technologies. He served as Assistant Professor at IIT Tirupati (2016–17), helped establish South Korean startups from his PhD research and 16 resulting patents (2017–19), and was Full Professor at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (2019–22). Since 2022, he has been Founding CEO of IIT Patna’s NM-ICPS Technology Innovation Hub, developing AI technologies, rapid-prototyping platforms and learning modules that contributed to over 18,000 telecommunications last-mile jobs.
Chief Strategic Officer
Sobhan Chakraborty
Sobhan Chakraborty represents the AWF in the official capacity as the Chief Strategic Officer (CSO). His primary objectives are to establish and strengthen strategic engagement with the Indian Armed Forces, Defence establishments, Government Ministries, Public Sector Undertakings, and other national institutions. Particular emphasis is placed on facilitating coordination with Defence organizations for candidate outreach and mobilization under the higher education programmes designed for retiring Agniveer personnel, offered through Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai. In association with Dr Sai, & Dr Toran his role is instrumental in identifying strategic funding opportunities, developing institutional partnerships, facilitating sponsored research and consultancy, promoting technology transfer, and establishing sustainable academic and industry collaborations
